We accepted the division of Hindustan. Many people ask why we did this and that we made a mistake. I still do not say that we made any mistake. Also, I prove that if Hindustan had not been divided, then what is happening today would have been much worse. Then Hindustan was not going to be divided into two parts, but into many parts. We accepted that okay, if our brother gets a separate house and becomes peaceful and takes care of his own house, then we will take care of our own house. But we accepted this with the hope that we will do our work peacefully. That was our mistake. I do not say that we made a mistake in dividing the country, the mistake was that after dividing the country we did the work which we should not have done. After independence, our respect in the world had increased and after 15 August, we had made a place for ourselves in the world. We fell much below that.
